Would this be a good upgrade to my old 128 GB SSD I'm running windows 10 off of?

Not nearly the lowest we've seen but maybe the best available right now.

1TB ssd deals are typically around $160.

I'd personally go with this drive.

People should sit on their hands a while longer.. HDD sales are waning and wd is converting a HDD factory over to SSD to meet demand as prices align with former HDD prices...
Expect Samsung, Seagate and Toshiba to primarily make SSD drives in the near future too. Some capacity hdds are already disappearing below 1tb.. by 2020 you will only find SSD 1tb drives around $65

Prices will always go down on newer tech. 2020 is a long ways from now for many people.

Well usually, unless a cartel decides to jack up the prices (like with DDR4, which is still ridiculously expensive. I bought 16GB Ddr3 in 2012 for like $60).

Or the HDD factory flood from the same period, which somehow took years to recover from.

Luckily Flash storage industry is so competitive that price jacking is unlikely. Same with Lcd panels, there are so many manufacturers that you can get 55 inch 4K TVs for $300-400 now, unthinkable a few years ago.

I've been running this drive for nearly a year to hold games and movies on my rig. Love it, never had an issue.
