Atmos and soundbar seem very contradictory to me.

I had it, returned for the Sk9y. Sounds good, pair it with the wireless rear speakers. At $199 it's not bad. I paid $400 at BB then returned for the Sk9y when it was on sale on buydig at the same price point. Saves room if you don't have a lot and you won't get the top mounted speakers on this one.

Especially as a 2.1. Maybe its selling point is it can decode Atmos sound but you can't hear it due to lack of speakers

The price is certainly right, definitely going to the Front Page. However, I just can't find any comprehensive reviews... It is a 2.1 setup soundbar that can decode Atmos. OK fine, but how does it sound? I just can't find any reviews ... Does any fellow SDers has the setup? Appreciate some feedback. Will Repped Smilie

While it's not 'real' Atmos, it's a great budget option from what I'm reading.
This deal is 50% off everywhere else, so definitely a thumbs up from me.

You can also add rear speakers for under $150. Would that make it like a 5.1 setup?

Thanks, Repped. Some questions if you don't mind -

1/ What do you mean by "Saves room if you don't have a lot"? Does it mean physically a smaller size soundbar or just save some $$ compared to sk9y?

2/ Since you had both soundbars at one point, do you think SK9Y with the wireless rear speaker setup much better then SK8Y with the rear speakers?

3/ Does the optional rear speakers make a difference?

Appreciate it Smilie

I was wondering about that too.. From what I have read so far, adding rear speakers will make the set up 2.1.2. i.e. My understanding is rear speakers will be use for Atmos sound if the the source is Atmos. If the source is not Atmos, I think the rear speakers will be used for virtual surround sound (which is different than discrete 5.1 sound). Again, I may be wrong, not from personal experience but just looking through the LG manuals online...

I have an LG oled and read some comments about horrible lag through the HDMI Arc. Can any owner confirm/disprove that issue?

You probably have to go into your LG tv audio settings to adjust the lip syncing (AV Sync?). I had to do that with my one year old LG and an older soundbar/subwoofer combo.

How would this compare to this LG SH7B?

https://www.bestbuy.com/site/lg-m...Id=4899008

I bought one at Costco for $140 on clearance, new in box.

Need something low profile to go along with my new OLED C8.
