Very dumb comment. Have you ever owned a dlp projector? Do the math, even at 4 hours per day, 7 days per week your max time in 1 year is going to be under 1500 hours per year. Most bulbs will get you at least 4500 hours, on eco mode many will go 7500 to 10000 hours. That equates to a minimum of 3 to a maximum of 7 years. Do you really think you will still be watching your current TV in 5-7 years? Didn't think so.

Had my W1070 for over 3 years, about 1500 hours on original bulb.
Unless you're using it 6-8 hours a day you won't be changing it yearly.

Ht2550 at $1k is a great price. Nice entry level 4k projector that supports 3d (1080p)

I got the MH530FHD last time around for a similar price to replace a Optoma HD20. Picture is better, brightness is way way better, black levels are better as well. No brainer for a budget projector if you have ambient light issues as I do/did.
Unit had 60 hours on it and cosmetically looked good as new.

The Ht2550 looked good but then I realized it doesn't have wide color gamut and has low contrast... However, it uses a new pixel shift tech different from other brands.

How is the 8050 compared to its true 4K competitors? I'm really tempted to enter the 4K projector foray but not sure if I should keep waiting

These are DLP and not LED? No thanks! Pass! Not changing bulbs every year!

I have question for the DLP projector owners. Did you guys ever have issues with white dots on the screen? I hear dlp projectors are more likely to do that?

Lumens is the most important thing for an outdoor theater. 4000 lumens would be best, 3000 lumens is okay. There are only two that fit this category, the MH530FHD and the MH741.

I've never had that issue. Some people have issues with the "rainbow" effect, but I'm still trying to figure out what exactly it is.
If I don't notice it, I'm probably not susceptible to it. I know some are.
I love the active 3D on mine, so my next projector was going to be the 2550, still waiting for more reviews and word of mouth if it's worth the upgrade over the w1070, or if I should wait another year or two.
