This TV is currently $649.99. Use the code POPULAR to take 15% off. And ebay has 10% ebay bucks on items over $150 right now. So the cost can be $535 for this amazing TV, if you can use the ebay bucks. My first post. Please don't be too harsh.

Might want to add Electronic Express via Ebay to your original post. They're a very well reviewed online seller through both Ebay and Rakuten.

Great deal if a) you get a good panel without visible issues and b) you can use the Ebay bucks.

Ya that's the trick, I went through 2 of these panels, 3rd panel has issues and now I've decided to take it up with Tcl instead and they are horrible - requiring all sorts of documentation and proof before they will replace the panel - I'd honestly recommend skipping, most frustrated I've been with a tv

Would this be much more upgrade than Samsung MU6290 49" for ps4 pro gaming?
I am looking for a new 55" tv, although I got 6290 very recently for $369.
Thinking about getting TCL 55 S405 for $369, MU8000 for $499 (49"), or this one for bigger screen or better HDR. Any suggestions?

I think it would be a huge upgrade. The colors pop and it gets bright enough to hurt your eyes. The brightness helps with realism. There is issue with Gray uniformity on my set. I'm just going to live with it. Its really only noticeable on certain scenes and even then only when you're looking for it. The built in roku is awesome. I really can't see myself buying a better tv anytime soon unless they start making oled a lot cheaper.

I don't see the 10% eBay bucks offer. Is there any link to activate? Checkout screen only shows the usual 1% eBay buck for me, am I missing something?

Edit - NVM looks like bucks is YMMV

I thought about getting this model. But when I emailed TCL about the banding issue, they said that this was a known issue and common with this model. Which is odd because 2017's P Series did not have it to that extent. It is possible that for those who are still getting sets that are defective, that it could be old stock. I don't know. But I am leery in giving it a shot until I hear some consistent feedback from people who have sets without the banding issue.

Having said that, Vizio has released their Quantum 65" model PQ65-F1. I'm curious if anyone here had had a chance to take a look?

banding and DSE vary by set, this fresh youtube has it worse than my 65R. Very good technical review https://youtu.be/TpdVM1jDhT0 and like others says it's the best tv in this price range.

It's really nice just watching those 4k ytube vids in such great detail and vibrant color. I have to agree, the colors are good right out of the box, especially important with skin tones.
