How's the quality of Florsheim Ashlin? Only dress shoes that I've owned are Cole Haan.

If you look closely in the pics they look like those cheap off-brand PayLess shoes, shoddy stitching and that really fake pleather look. I think Florsheim is mostly doing licensing deals these days so only buy if you are okay with having to return. That tight ankle looked painful too.

Feel the same way when they never have wide sizes in their stores.

I wish they specified if this was synthetic or real leather. It just says leather. I'm going to assume that it's not real leather.

Every time I goto men's Wearhouse on my phone now, the customer service "chat" pops up and covers the whole screen. Very...very frustrating and annoying

I was getting the same thing, their website is trying to be good but it's so bad.

Agreed. I know they make some decent dress shoes (leather sole, etc.) at reasonable prices, but these do not appear to be those.

A heads up to those who want something nicer: Jack Erwin has 50% off some of their hand made in Spain full grain calfskin dress shoes. Generally around the $80-100 price point, but https://www.jackerwin.com/collect...3d0a240614

CH are nice, so if you looking for an alternative, I dont think Florsheim is it. Maybe Johnson & Murphy, but I havent been a fan of them. Allen Edmonds would be an upgrade, though they may not be the style you want.

If you wear dress shoes often don't get these but for the person that only needs a pair once or twice a year these are great.

Nice shoes for about $100 after discount but: "This item is final sale: May not be returned or exchanged." Not good for people who have never tried their shoes. Pass.

Bought these for years in both Cognac and Black. Great comfort, nice looking, real leather. I wear dress shoes to work everyday. Only two issues, the first I they have no traction which is rough during icy Michigan winters, but also common in many/most dress shoes. The second is they only lasted about 6-8 months and I was constantly buying new ones. At $40, hard to go wrong for the occasional wearer or just toss them when they wear out though. Sizing is pretty accurate.
