For an example of a very iffy deal, you could get 2 of these Logitech keyboard/mouse combos [sears.com]
for $22.24 each, so $44.48, then $40 back as points. But Amazon $others sell them for under $15, so $29 for 2.
Sears, $45 OOP with $40 in points vs. Newegg $29 OOP. Its like you're buying $40 in points for $16. You have to decide if you can benefit from that. If you can easily find something to spend the points on that you would have bought anyway, then you can think of the combos as costing just $2 each!
