I paid $58 on prime day, was not worth it, wait til it's under $50 or seriously updated. Flipped it for $85, and happy I did.

it was 89 dollars on prime day not 58
sold it used for 85? Good for you.
This is a first generation device with first generation software with new skills beingadded every day.

It is NOT as good as a Logitech Harmony, but it isn't bad either and they're adding new additional connected devices and skills every day. You have to have realistic expectations.
I think this is great for the bedroom TV and by the time the second generation comes out it will be awesome for the whole home theatre.

It's not likely to go for 50 dollars in this generation. The 89 dollar deal will certainly be repeated and maybe 79 (1/3rd off) or 59 (1/2 off) during black Friday. but if you look at the price drops of generation one kindles (from 199 to 49) and 1st generation fire sticks (from 99 to 29). My apple ipod first generation was expensive vs a ipod nano (which I still use for the gym) and had much less capability than its sucessor.

For those of us that are "early adopters" we pay a bit of a price. But we can minimize that price by buying ON SALE and by repurposeing it to less critical roles (bedroom instead of the living room or the entertainment room). Also some people don't need the whole set up, sometimes less is more. For instance I have a whole 9.2 .2 atmos system in the living room, but only one single soundbar in the bedroom is much less clutter. So just because the "cube" isn't enough for you, doesn't mean that it doesn't have good use. I highly recommend the cube for a bedroom or small apartment

There was a Roku trade in offer that dropped the price on prime day. https://slickdeals.net/share/android_app/t/11811539

This device is not yet ready for prime time, but if you want it go for it.

Got one during the pre-release deal for $89.

Tried it, didn't like it, sent it back.

Got it on prime day for about 26 (89, Appletv trade-in 35 and Amex 20% offer 24). Not worth more than 50 though.

Not worth it for local sale only in my area, not enough tech savvy folks around. I don't bother with ebay due to fees and scammers.

You still come out way ahead by taking 5 minutes to install Kodi.

I know, but not worth the trouble educating my buyers. I have a small accounting business, I can't afford to let my irritation with a purchasers lack of ability to run Kodi cost me real business.
