Hmm strange to me that the 860 is selling for so much less than the 850. Benchmarks that I've reviewed show the 850 is a little bit faster but doesn't rewrite or have the projected durability of the 860.

Umm. No. The 850 is discontinued. When an item gets discontinued there is very little stock and stores raise the prices like crazy. Thats just how it works. Its only more expensive because its gone now. In other words, you should not buy the 850.

"$20 off" might be more accurate. It's been $220 lately.

Seems like these have been around 200 and 100 for the 500 gig recently on sale. This is a good price I'm holding out hopping it'll come down a bit more several other brands have had 1t for close to 150 I like Samsung better still up voted.

I used to buy stuff from NewEgg all the time....last few times they've cancelled my orders with no explanations or warnings other than an email saying they've been cancelled. Their fraud department keeps flagging the orders for cancellation because my address is not universally recognized (this property used to be a campground). Thing is, they never attempt to contact to resolve....they just cancel. Nobody else has this problem delivering here.
No more doing business with them for me

860 is a bit faster in 4k reading thanks to a better controller and use of LPDDR4 (vs LPDDR2).
that's been said, i havne't see a single person able to kill 850 or 860. anandtech's interview with Samsung was they tested a 128G 850 evo over 1.2 PB of data and still show no sign of wear.

edit. apparently there was a endurance for 256G 850 pro at 9.1 PB.. consider the spec was merely 75 TWB. that's 125 times better.
