Uhhhh...

Burbank is considered one of the nicer areas in Los Angeles. Warner Bros and Disney Studios are here. Late night talks shows get shot here. Griffith Observatory, Universal Studios and Universal City Walk are all right next door. And of course there is all of Los Angeles just over the hill with Mann's Chinese Theater, the Hollywood Walk of Fame, Disneyland, Six Flags Magic Mountain, Hurricane Harbor, Lego Land and Knott's Berry Farm. Staples Center is here to with the newly acquired LeBron James!

So, yeah. There's that.

What's there to do in Burbank? Any cheap hotels? Are AirBnB cheap there? Public transportation or rental car needed?

Nothing to do in Burbank so rent a car and stay elsewhere. Hollywood is about 10-15 mins away.

EDIT: Well, Burbank has a bunch of studios (Disney, etc.)

Burbank is studio city... lots of hollywood studios to tour. Also Universal Studios is right here. And LA is just over the hills, with Hollywood just 20 mins away.
