Looks like the only diff between the two is a 9" bread knife here or a 3.25" vegetable knife in your deal.

Amex has $5 back on $25 purchase at bed bath and beyond, and bed bath and beyond will give you a $30 gift card for purchase of $299 or more. Question is which of the two is better (and/or Pricer set) There's no detail on the Sak's set. Seems like "Classic", but is a different block then the BB & B block...

Would you please give me link on the $30 gift card? I can't find it.

So true, according to Consumer Reports. To be fair, an equally good knife set would cost a bit more than $30, but about 30% to 50% less than the always overpriced Shun.

Without mentioning an actual set that's just as good but 30-50% off, I personal don't know what to buy, and will end up with another shitty set. Or buy this and know for sure it's not another shitty set. I am speaking as someone who doesn't know about knifes.

I couldn't piece this set together from individual shun sales on Slickdeals. This is a great deal if you're looking for something like this. Just FYI the tips tend to be brittle (I've broken mine) and the style of cutting doesn't lend itself to rocking the blade you get with German knives.
