- If you plan to use the newegg egg points, and promo credit in the future, then it comes out to about $269 for the "Absolute" model that comes with the soft roller head that cleans hard floors better.
- Only yellow color has this price
- Dyson is the seller

Pretty good deal even if you don't plan to use the points/credit. I've been watching prices on this particular model for about a month, and $300 is the lowest I've seen (EDIT: from a reputable seller with some warranty coverage). I recently got one of these from the Dyson store on ebay, and it was right around $300 refurbished after the 15% sitewide coupon. Other than the scuffs on the packaging, the one I received seemed new.

FWIW, the vac is great - quiet, powerful, well-built. Recommended! The "fluffy" spinning hard-floor attachment really is beneficial on hard floors - if you have a lot of non-carpeted surfaces, I'd recommend this model over the Animal/Motorhead lines which don't include this head. Battery life will be disappointing if you use exclusively the motorized head and exclusively in "Max" mode, so I wouldn't recommend this (or any other cordless vac) primarily for use on deep-pile carpet. But regular (non-"Max") mode is more than adequate for hard floors or short-pile carpet, with or without a motorized head.
Of course I don't expect the battery to last for more than a couple years, but that's the case with just about any battery gadget these days. There are replacement batteries (from foreign 3rd-party suppliers) available for <$60 on Amazon; you have to remove 3 screws to swap out the battery. Not quite as easy as a cordless drill, but a lot easier than most modern smartphones.

I have Dyson v6, it's ok, but want upgrade. Would this one be significant upgrade of v6. I want something has more sucking power and battery last longer.

its a noticeable upgrade (esp battery life) but i would think the v10 would be a worthwhile jump

I saw those threads, and checked my local Lowes. No V8 Absolutes at all, and no markdowns on other models. Frown

I haven't tried the V10, but it IS a big price jump. And from what I've read, the performance increase compared to the V8 is only incremental. It's also slightly louder than the V8, if that's important to you.
Reviews & Dyson's specs both suggest V8 is a noticeable improvement over the V6, but V10 is only a small improvement over the V8. Lowest price I could find for the V10 Animal was ~$450 refurbished, and that doesn't include the "fluffy" spinning hard floor attachment. If you have hard floors and want that attachment, you're looking at $500 or more for a V10. Or $300 for the V8. That's how I made my decision...
Of course if you can swing the extra couple hundred dollars, the V10 is top of the line (currently), so go for it! If you're not in a hurry, wait until the next upgrade is released, then the V10 prices will probably drop. Just like with new phones.

Parents have v10, i have v8....no noticeable difference outside of the weight being slightly different and the balance. I think if someone is new to stick vacuums the v8 price point is perfect for the quality.

Thanks, that makes me feel better about purchasing the V8 vs. waiting or splurging on the V10! Helpful comparison.
