Crucial MX500 2.5" 500GB SSD $64.99 and free year of Newegg Premier after Amex Everyday credit card approval

I couldn't find a direct link to the credit card promotion anywhere so I just used the link for what I bought.

If you add an item to your cart at Newegg you'll see an offer in the cart for an Amex credit card. If you apply to and are accepted for the Amex Everyday credit card, you can receive the card number digitally and use it right away even though you don't physically have the card yet.

The promo offers $25 back as a statement credit on any Newegg purchase of $25 or more as long as you buy within 3 months of approval. The credit takes 6-8 weeks to come back to you but I think this is still a good deal. You also get a free year of Newegg Premier if accepted.

You can get the Crucial MX500 500GB SSD for $65 (which is Shoprunner eligible), or alternatively you can get $25 off whatever else from Newegg as long as it's over $25

As opposed to an actual AMEX bonus?

Don't be silly, don't count a CC sign up bonus for any "deal"

It's not that. It's just that getting less than $150 as a credit card sign up bonus isn't considered a good deal. $150 cash back after $500 spent is pretty much standard these days. The recent Wells Fargo card deal was for $200 after $500 spent.

I got 25k bonus MR points worth easily $312.50 or a lot more for the same card. Why would anyone sign up for this card for $25?

Wow I guess you have no clue on how much you can get from opening a credit card. I got around $500 - $800 for each CC I opened.

has absolutely nothing to do with that. just don't consider the discount when you get cash back or a statement credit because that applies to any item in the world. do you really want to post a thread for every deal just because you get a credit when applying for a credit card?
