For those, like me, who didn't know about "puma chipset;" turns out, that's a terrible thing. It was a big Intel lawsuit thing for a bad modem chip.

So it's a good thing that this has NO PUMA.

One of the 2 best Options for BYO cable modems, 24x8 and no PUMA6 latency spikes. This is the lowest price I've seen and frankly one of the best options for those stuck without FTTH options.

FTTH, I knew that one, Fiber To The Home!

i have the CM400, no idea if PUMA or not, and I am the sole occupant at the residence. So from what I understand even with heavy internet use it's only ever two maybe three if I'm streaming Netflix instances of use. Not a house of five everybody streaming. So I probably don't need this then?

Googlin says more channels means more top end (ie 16 channels tops out at 608 Mbit/s) so apparently need it I do. So I bought it. Thanks OP and killer price.

TIA

off topic a bit, I bought my own router/VOIP combo from a groupon deal (same equip as xfinity, likely refurbed), but xfinity keeps charging me the fee for rental, going on 2 years...I've tried everything, but they say they have to charge me the fee to assign it an ID/make it work...such a scam...anybody know how to fix that? I want to dump their phone service, but want to fix this first
