I got someone the pole saw last Christmas... we have cut down some serious limbs this year with it. Guessing largest is 6 inches or so (nearly the size of the bar). Battery (2ah) lasts plenty long enough for your arms to turn to jello and trim quite a few tree limbs.

Pretty freaking awesome tool, only downsides I personally see is the cover is plastic, and the battery holder area is plastic, it doesn't feel like really super strong plastic like a Milwaukee tool would have, but we have not broken it ourselves. Just be mildly careful and you'll be 100% OK.

If you do mild to moderate tree trimming (I can't comment on heavy tree trimming) this will do the job, and you will love it. Really happy with ours, absolutely zero issues. We trimmed limbs so we would no longer be hit with the lawn mower and trimmed probably 15 trees before battery died. Various size branches, most people over an inch, some being 6 inches.
FYI - you can use the greenworks and poulan pro 40V tools/batteries interchangeably (With a very simple battery mod, just remove the index tab)

Amazon DEAL OF THE DAY

List Price:$169, yeah , whatever
Usual Price: $80 or more
Today's Price: $56.04

This is ATTACHMENT CAPABLE, so it should accept the edger that's also on sale today.
This is normally in the $80-100+ range, depending on a ton of factors (like if its raining in Italy, lol). It was a popular deal at $70 a few months ago. But it looks like Amazon/Greenworks are clearing out some products for the end of the summer. This is EASILY the LOWEST I've seen this. Its been in my cart for months. I got the notice that it went down from 80 to 46 when I logged into Amazon this morning. Hope this helps someone.

As a comparison the less capable and smaller 13" trimmer that DOES NOT accept attachments is $52. Greenworks make a few attachments for this. I think one worth considering is the edger, especially since its on sale and works with this trimmer. Its ONLY $46 today. I know.. As I'm writing this, I'm thinking that I sound like a salesman.

Link to Greenworks edger attachment that should fit and is ALSO on SALE today.

As a matter of fact, if you search Greenworks on SD, there are quite a few sales available. This has been in my cart for a few months and I've never seen it below $60. Great deal (if you like using attachments), and it mates with the trimmer in this thread.

Anyone know if the 40v and 80v batteries can be used on each other? I have an 80v lawnmower and it's slightly too little for my yard on one charge. I'd like to grab a 40v to start and then swap it out and charge it. Should be charged again for trimming after the lawn is done.
