fire them. immediately. why on Earth would a new version break user settings? that's the most bone headed move an appointment developer can make. rule number one of updates. come on man.

I would really love a way to go back to just getting the push notifications I set up. It makes deal alerts essentially useless. I don't want to have to disable all Slick Deals notifications, but I don't see another way to make it stop.

This is the first time I've ever seen notifications sounds work on this app.

I had to block all notifications from Slickdeals in my Android. This sucks.

How do you even turn them off? I've looked seemingly everywhere. About to Uninstall.

On stock Android, go to Settings, Apps, go to Slick deals, Go to Notifications, and uncheck the ones you don't want. VERY annoying!

in the android version you can access the settings by first going to profile and then tap the cog on the top right. in the "Frontpage Push Notification Settings" section you should see the options to adjust frontpage / da / forum notification settings. i imagine settings would be located in a similar location on the ios app.

Problem is you guys changed something. All of a sudden I kept getting notified of thousands of fp deals. Stop blaming users for a problem you created

I wasn't blaming anyone, just explaining how to turn them off. The devs have been made aware of the thread....thanks for the feedback.

Hi everyone.

We would like to apologize for the new behavior changes. Google requires all apps to support Oreo by November, and one of the requirements to support Oreo was changing where push notification settings are controlled. Oreo requires those push notifications settings to be controlled in the phone's push notification settings, instead of being controlled directly from the app. The bright side is that users with Oreo devices will now have complete control over how push notifications behave.

If you go to Profile > Settings inside our app you will see the app now shows 3 links: Frontpage Notification Settings, Deal Alert Notification Settings, and Forum Notification settings. Tapping any of these links will now direct you to the settings for the respective push notifications where you can control things like priority, sounds, vibration, etc. for each one independently e.g. you can have Frontpage notifications play one sound and Deal Alert notifications play another.

Again we would like to apologize for the change, and we hope the information about how to customize these settings helps!

Turning the frontpage notifications off in the app settings only works temporarily. Every morning I am greeted with a barrage of frontpage notifications all over again, and when I check the settings, they have all been turned on again! Really annoying.
