Men's Nishiki Manitoba bike for 60% off the regular price of $499.99 as part of their End-of-summer Flash Sale. This is the lowest price I've ever seen this bike.
For anyone that's looking for a decent, entry-level bike for riding on mostly paved, flat surfaces, this could do the trick. The parts used on this bike compares to other bikes I've seen on sale for between $300-$350.
How this bike is assembled is very important to the product you're getting here. I've been to various Dick's Sporting Goods, and some have great bike techs while others are not so good and do not know how to properly tune a bike. You may want to budget some $ just in case your bike needs to be tuned by a LBS.

Also the pedals are awful and will offer no grip in even slightly wet conditions. I would replace those since it's a legit safety hazard. Cheap replacements are easy to find.
If you do have to get it tuned at an LBS you might be better off just buying something there since a tune can cost $30 to $80 depending on the shop, plus the cost of your time and inconvenience. At that point you're basically looking at the starting price of a Giant Escape or Trek FX which are better buys IMO. And you'd be able to do a test ride and likely get a free tune after the first 100 miles or so.
edit: Trek not Trex. Oops!

Product description says "Shimano 7 speed"
Looks like a 21 speed since it has the Acera components
