Had an alert on this for quite a while. Didn't get a great deal on prime day for these. Glad I waited!

Thought I read a while back that you can split these up and use each one with a regular 3-way switch to be able to control 2 separate lights and not have to use both of these together...Anyone know if this is still true?

I've heard the regular, non-three-way smart switches also work in three-way applications if wired correctly.

I have one set split up and it still works fine. There hasn't been any update to break this feature

I have not heard this, but at this price, these are cheaper (or about the same) than the non-3-way type. I have some of the regular ones and when researching did not hear anything about this, and I tried looking because I had some 3-way switches in the house but didn't want to spend the high price of the 3-way switch type when I thought that you need a complete kit to control just one light.

I'm also waiting for the dimmer style to come down in price.

Thanks for the reply...any special things that need to be done for it to work?

From what I remember (I'll need to research again I guess), even if the dummy switch is used to turn the light on or off you can still control the 3-way switch with the app. Is this the case?

Yes they work if you rewire it but then you lose the ability to turn the light on from both spots. Unless there is another way to do it you have to unwire at 2nd location and connect a couple wires together. Maybe a more experienced electrician could still make both work but the point where you have to pay for the price difference between a 2 way and 3 way isn't even worth 10 min of their time.

Does anyone know if there are any good options for a 2 gang face plate for these? These are exactly what I'm looking for but both the switches I want to replace are in 2 gang configs.

Is it possible to replace the faceplate with the one of different color?

I have four regular old school flip switches, can I put ALL four next to each other and then use a standard four toggle faceplate to cover it all?

I have the regular version and used regular faceplates purchased at Home Depot. I did not use the ones supplied because I placed them both in a wall switch that had 2 side by side (I guess that's called 2 gang config.??). One of them was even a dual flip switch so I had to buy a faceplate that was one side paddle and one side flip switch.

nope. Only thing is you'll just skip the 2nd part of the setup in the app walkthrough. Also depending on how your 3 way switch is set up, one side might not have the neutral cable but the other side might. Pluls you have to deal with having 2 different looking switches like me hahaha
