To those who didn't notice, this isn't a deal posting it's an ad. It says so right above each page. This is paid advertising.

As for HSBC, they are OK. I just dread having to call customer service. Not so much due to the lack of service but the communication problems. It's not a European bank, it's based in Hong Kong. They just moved the HQ in paper to London when HK fell to China. The problem is that you would think the CSRs would be Chinese, those people can speak American. Instead they outsource the CS to India, those guys can't speak American. So I have a hard time trying to make myself understood. Once I do though they do take care of it.

And? GS may not operate Slickdeals (which is still based in Vegas), but they are owners. No one should be surprised that SD would partner with HSBC on a deal.

And so.... GS doesn't own them. It co-manages the fund that does with Hearst. And it would be surprising to have a bank advertise for another bank wouldn't it? When was the last time you saw an ad for Wells Fargo when you signed into Chase?

GS's "Marcus" is a direct competitor of this account though, I think they can afford to offer a $500 SD rebate
