DCU is 5% for the first $1000 and All America Bank is 2.25% for their money market account. Both have no minimum.
DCU:
5.12% APY will be paid on the balance in your account up to the first $1,000.00. A dividend rate of 0.25% will be paid on the remaining balance in your account that exceeds $1,000.00, which will create a blended rate made up of the 5.12% APY and 0.25% APY. For example, a balance of $1,500.00 would earn a blended rate of 3.50% APY. "Blended APY" shown assumes the amount entered is held in the account for one year. Requires a $5.00 minimum balance to open the account and earn the APY.

I usually switch between Dollar Savings Direct and My Savings Direct. One or the other usually matches the top rate. MSD currently at 2.25. They are extremely basic but it gets the job done. No fees whatsoever.

surprised that no one mentioned Discover CD 2.4% at 12 months
Well it's a CD and not a savings account

BTW, just an advance warning HSBC is at bottom of bottom at customer treatment.

1) They ask very intrusive questions at signup
2) They will treat your account as 'subject to IRS withholding' due to a bug in their site (check earlier thread where lot of people ended up in that situation) and withhold half of interest. It is a pain to get off that (have to plead since they would not accept that it is problem with their online form)
3) At every point when you call customer service, you will treated as if they are doing you a favor by holding your money.

Never again.
I have faced the same issue as well. Pathetic and inhuman customer service. They just treat you so casually and don't help much.

750 bucks is not going to entice anyone to move 100,000 anywhere. You crazy! Chase u get 500 bux for some balance that is MUCH lower.

I signed up for a new account bonus a couple of years ago. Took me over 3 months of nagging them and going into the branch to get my bonus after it never showed up. Horrible. On top of that, their IT systems are antiquated and clumsy to use.

Just stick with Ally Bank... No issues, 1.85% and a good simple app and setup
Yea not worth it. HSBC is a crap bank, you can't compete on marginally higher interest when your system and customer service is so garbage.

Might be time to move my money out of goldman sachs
CIT Bank Money Market has higher interest than Goldman Sachs / Marcus and you won't have to deal with HSBC.

HSBC is prone to errors and their customer service is absolutely terrible. Also you have to mail in a form before they will even open your account, even then it takes them around a month to open.

Northfield bank (small east coast bank) gives 2.25 on their online platinum savings - no fees if you have a balance above $2,500. Opened an account last month and I'm happy. https://www.enorthfield.com/rates/deposit

FFS stay away from HSBC. They have the worst customer service possible. After you make the deposit it is a pita to access the account. They did not create my online account until I filed a CFPB complaint a month later.

Lame. I didn't get instant approval for this, says under review / pending. I wonder if they might deny me for $1 opening request. Hopefully rebate still works if I get approved later and then submit form.
