Easily hacked but personally I'd get the Wii u which is easily hackable and then can play tons if games.

Shop Goodwill.com. I have purchased a few from there for half the price

The Wii disc drive was definitely a weak point, softmodding and running games off hard drive is the way to go.

Or Craigslist, this price is high IMO, but will probably end up FP anyway even though it's not a deal.

Not all Wii's have GC ports/memory slots, they started removing those later in the console's life, so you may or may not get one with GC compatibility.
You're right. I was more comparing Wii vs Wii u. Get a first gen wii for that compatibility.

You do get better video output from the wii vs the wii u. There's a nice hdmi mod as well if you're into that (it's a lot of work but if you're hardcore about your gamecube and wii games it's worth it)

I jumped on previous GameStop refurbished Wii deal here a few months back. Got it home and it would pull in the disks but wouldn't spin up. Took it back to the store and exchanged for another unit. Got it home and it wouldn't even inject the disks. Took it back to the store and got my money back. Both units came in a sealed GameStop refurbished box.

Lol. I got in on the last Wii SD too. Returned the games that came with it and got like $20 cash back. The lady working said she wasn't able to put it back to my credit card. Wonder why... lol. Anyway, yes, I have like a 2 TB external hd and am working on downloading every game.. The Wii is great.
