$80 bucks for a controller that can be had for $45 or less on regular basis and $10 game? No thanks.

He's saying you spend $80 on the controller/game bundle and get $75 back in Shop Your Way reward points. Making it almost free.

Over 3 installments... and if you consider points cash (which you should not).
Plus the fact that SHLD is now a penny stock and has a very large loan due within the month. (personally, I think they will be around but you never know).

I didn't say I thought it was a good deal. I actually don't. I don't need a plain Xbox One controller(I already have 5 in various colors and styles) and I already own Rare Replay. Plus I never shop at Kmart and don't have a Shop Your Way membership. I don't believe I would ever spend the points if I did this. I was just explaining what the OP was getting at. Sorry for the confusion.

You can poo poo the value of the details but it is unfair to not note them in your assessment, which is what you were trying to do. $75 in points may not be worth $75 in cash, but it isn't nothing. It has value. Maybe even enough value to make this deal better than you can find a plane jane xbone controller for.

"making it almost free" certainly sounds like a good deal to me. I understand what you are trying to say but by the OP's logic pretty much everything at kmart $75 or under is free.

I was commenting on people that are treating these points as a 1:1 value... "$5" and "almost free".

At least the OP acknowledges these items can be had for ~$40 elsewhere. In this case, you are paying $75 for $40 worth of stuff in order to spend $75 worth of points in 3 increments on generally pretty overpriced items.

(This is coming from someone who has earned and spend over $20,000 in SYWR points)

Maybe, but it's a far cry from what the previous poster said, which was to ignore the SYW pts altogether as though that wasn't the whole point of the deal.

You didn't say "SYW pts aren't as valuable as cash" or even attempt to put a value on it. Maybe it's worth half value, or some percentage. Either way, claiming that someone is overpaying for this and IGNORING the whole point of why someone thinks it's a deal is disingenuous at best.

Seems like you are mistaken...

It still makes it $80. These deals don't subtract the cost of the item just b/c you get store credit after you pay full price.

I dont care what that poster said (which you clearly thought was me before your edit). I wasnt responding to them or quoting them. My comment was to another post and was about people that think points are basically same as cash. I know SYWR points have value, more than most users here. Your faux outrage is misplaced.
