It looks like this previous Slickdeal is back again at Costco. It had jumped up to $1999 and it looks like it just came back down to $1799.

1. I doubt you're going to see many deep discounts on middle-upper-end TVs. Most of what is discounted is the lower-end stuff.
2. We're less than 90 days from Black Friday. If something better does go on sale during BF you can return this TV.
3. Also since we're less than 90 days from BF, you're within the timeframe for most credit card's price protection benefits, so if this TV goes on sale during BF, you can make a claim and get the difference.

Knowing all of the above why would you wait another 6 weeks instead of getting it now (assuming this TV meets your needs/requirements)?

Just returned mine to Costco today... FYI the rtings.com review was on the 65", but many of the 75" models including mine have a really bad "jailbar" effect where on mostly flat color frames you can see really obvious vertical bands of light... super distracting even if you aren't a TV quality snob (google yourself for pictures).

Also probably more isolated to my case but the backlight on my set completely crapped out and started strobing in random squares around the screen, which is why I ultimately had to return it. Ended up picking up an 82" Samsung NU8000 for $2100 from samsung.com w/ a .edu email, which has been just as good quality in my eyes, better software, and no banding. Review wise the big difference is the Samsung doesn't have local dimming, which I did not like on the P75 either (really obvious when it flicks on/off). The blacks and contrast will be more than enough as-is for most people.

I'm not a Costco expert, but as noted in the description, there is a 90 day return policy when buying this TV at Costco, so we are well within 90 days of Black Friday. If there is a better deal on Black Friday/Cyber Monday, then return and rebuy or ask for a price adjustment. However, there is no guarantee that this TV will be part of any Black Friday deals.

I just missed it. Been waiting for this to drop back down. We're well into the Black Friday return window now too. Think I'm gonna enter the panel lottery and see what I get.

I've been enjoying mine so far. I have some jail bars but I really only see them in content meant specifically to look for them or uniform colors. During actual content ranging from 4K Plex movies, streaming from Hulu and Netflix and gaming, it just looks like a great TV. The AVS thread has reports of panel lottery issues though.

Good points made my response would be to wait and see if another tv comes out that you like better. Sure it's a gamble but let's face it this is a tv we are talking about there shouldn't be any dire need to buy it now... or so I hope.
