Don't think this is a bad price, but I think sweet/slick spot is more in the $900 range due to the slightly gimped graphics card (1060 Max-Q version) and 8GB of RAM. On the upside, pretty sure the TB3 on this model is 4-lanes if that matters to you. If you need a machine right now, this wouldn't be a terrible buy.

1060s can be bought used for about 600-700. I wouldnt pay over 800 for new one now.

Not sure if this is slick or not but the whole reason why I think this is more expensive is the thunderbolt 3 feature. The Dell g3 is another option if you are just looking at raw specs for about 200 dollars less.

I just bought a preowned ROG laptop with a GTX 1070, 16gb of DDR4, 256GB SSD, 1TB HDD, and an i7 6700hq for $702.

Better deals can be had than this by far.

This is actually a pretty bad deal. Dell has deals on the G7 every other week. Their 100$ off $999 or more purchase stacks with their standard 20% discount to get you the 16 GB RAM version of this laptop for $949 plus tax.

DO NOT BUY THIS. Same laptop available on dell website for $979. This is NOT a deal. It's a rip off.

I stacked the ebay 15% off sitewide, chase freedom 5x cashback, 3x cashback from spent app, and the ebay drop rewards portal (10x back in gift cards).

So not exactly a repeatable deal.
