If you're looking for something for your basic low def dash camera then this is the way to go. If you're looking for something for literally anything else then you'll want something a lot faster. I personally wouldn't consider buying anything other than U3 and this isn't even U1. To be clear, the write speeds on this are so slow that it will not be able to support any kind of HD video recording and certainly not 4k which requires a minimum write speed of 30mb and this only has a MAX of 20. But again, if you just need something to keep in your dash cam and want it to be able to withstand the heat and moisture then this is the card for you

For comparison sake. The Samsung Pro (Endurance) 128gb is $60 with a 5 year warranty VS. 2 years. And the read/write speeds seem significantly higher.

*Forgot to mention it's the endurance line.

Read write speed MAXIMUM of 20mbs. This is terrible, it might do hd, definitely not 4k. This will give poor performance no matter the application

Reviews (4.5*) seem to speak otherwise
"...They never marketed them for anything higher than 1080p recording.
I get about 21-23mbs write and read speeds from the newer ones, which is a bit better than advertised."

I'm thinking this could save my SSD from all the writes of Windows Media Center's pause buffer.

I guess how bad are those writes? Unless you've got a really low end SSD, I don't think you'll run into any life issues.

Bad enough that I haven't had an Xfinity DVR extender box last for more than a year before developing pause buffer issues, though it is writing 24x7.

interesting.

This old test from 2013 shows ssds back then can easily do 700TB+ of writes. I don't think the DVR can do that much writing.
