These Rival ball guns are so much of an improvement over the darts. I bought three for my family and will probably buy more. Good product.

Very true. My siblings have rivals. Other one used to have the $75 Nemesis one (it was on sale for 50). He ended up selling it on Craigslist since D batteries are a pain. My other two brothers have Apollos, and they are a great hand load action gun. They travel fast, ricochet well, and pack a nice punch. Overall, I'd stay away from batteries unless you consider going for a universal battery charger.

Got this for my 5 year old today at Target after price matching. Wd loved the gun, it is just a bit hard to reload for little kids

Just buy some eneloop adapters off eBay. They're like $1.50 for four sleeves.

You can get you can get a rechargeable battery pack. That's what I got for mine and it is rad :-)
