$10 a filter, isn't this expensive? I remember seeing $15 for a 3 pack here some where in SD before...

Does Slickdeals or Amazon have a deal with sellers/manufacturers of these? Are they usually expensive? Do they get used-up quickly? There's constantly threads created on these. I never see many posts in any of the threads. Just wondering. It's like getting an ad for a refrigerator shelf two or three times a week.

Just recently purchased one of these off brand filters from waterdrop direct and now my refrigerator water dispenser is broken. Estimate for repair is $75 just for diagnosis, so this deal was definitely not slick.

Is this your first filter change? Usually the filter requires a "prime" to remove any air or push the filter media to one end. If you put the old one back in does it work? Also depending on installation some need to fully click or turn to engage. It may be a clog or defect in filter, reason I asked if you've tried old one again.

I was looking into the Kenmore Version 9081 for my whirlpool which was half the price for filter #1.

While I was checking the price I found this one, but from the picture I don't think it will work

Terrible deal.

AmazonBasics now makes fridge filters. Three levels, for whatever certifications/price ratio suits you.

Even though I'm sure they are all made in China, I would definitely trust Amazon's research and safety standards over these other no-name brands.

No, I simply threw old one away. Didn't think this was going to happen. I didn't even check functionality immediately, realize it didn't work a few hours later after installing...when I was thirsty.

Amazon gets their filters from the same factories as many of these generic brands. You can look up the model numbers on nsf.org, and see which factories they come from.
