Includes:
1/2 in. hammer driver-drill (tool only; XPH07Z),
18-Volt LXT brushless impact driver (XDT08Z),
two 18-Volt LXT lithium-ion 4.0Ah batteries (BL1840),
8-Volt lithium-ion rapid optimum charger (DC18RC),
tool belt clip (346317-0), depth gauge (122576-8), XPH07 side handle (126413-8), tool case.
Very good hammer drill in this kit. Previous high end drills of any maker were 400-600 in. lbs of torque. This one is over 1000 making it extremely capable but quite bulky and heavy. Do the research its a great kit and I have not seen it at this price till now. 4ah batteries, at this price is also very hard to find. I am a carpenter with an older m18 brushed set and am looking to upgrade, I have used a lot of makita hand tools and their drills have always been fantastic.

Hammer Drill- 530 in.lbs of torque in that set.
1,090 in.lbs. of Torque in XT257M. Literally twice the power. Plastic chuck vs metal chuck. I think the impacts are very similar.

This seems to be a solid deal. But is https://slickdeals.net/f/11976659-makita-xt275pt-18v-lxt-lithium-ion-2-pc-combo-kit-5-0ah-200-homedepot-ymmv?v=1 a better deal if you can get it? That one has 2x 5ah batteries and the drills seems to be later released versions.

That set has an impact driver, rather than a hammerdrill. Much different and used for a different purpose, however for most dyi folks a impact driver is far more useful imo. I actually own the set you have posted here and I love it, no complaints.

They both have a hammer drill and impact driver.

$200 version has a charger with slots for two batteries. Will let more knowledgeable folks speak to the differences in the Hammers and Impacts.

This model hammer drill XPH07 is one of the best hammer drill/drivers on the market and is Makita's flagship cordless hammer drill/driver. Very well made with great power, but also is very heavy. Unless you are a big DIYer or professional, I probably wouldn't recommend it as it is overkill for the average homeowner. I use my subcompact makita drill/driver more, but it's better for small things like hanging light items on the walls or assembling furniture. I pull this out when I need to drill into masonry or am constructing things from lumber.

The other kit has a smaller hammer drill/driver but is not as well constructed or powerful, but again lighter. It also has the selectable torque impact driver. The other kit is probably more useful for the average person.

This is a great price, though, and I would jump on it if I'm looking to upgrade my tools.

Why is it that there is never a deal on Makita drills? All I see are hammer and impact drill deals.

the kit you linked got the newer impact driver but the drill is not as good as the one posted.

this kit got the better hammer drill. the impact driver is meh. very big and the light doesn't stay on after you release trigger. it's one of the older discontinued version.

i bought the kit with 5.0ah batteries and end up selling the impact driver and replaced it with the XDT09.

Most of my tools are on Makita platform. it's awesome.
