It is my first deal post and this seems great deal for me.
$50 for 256g ssd, and this ram is $63 alone
95 w/o promo code is ok deal, but 80 felt quite slick for me.
promo code : EMCEPEE68 (subscribers only)

https://www.newegg.com/Product/Co...gnorebbr=1

This is same ddr4 ram in the combo if you want to buy another 8g for 16g build

That's a strange bundle, an SSD and one stick of RAM.

FYI, "Subscribers only" doesn't make much sense to include in the title, when you don't mention that the deals is from NewEgg. whose mailing list it is to which you're referring.

it's actually amazing and exactly what I was looking for. bought 4 off these combos to fill out 4 dirt cheap barebone kits I got newegg earlier in the week. i don't know what I would do without newegg...

if you were building a gaming desktop, you can buy two kits, RAID the SSDs for crazy speeds and get 16GB of decent speed RAM. normally this would set you back $200+

It seems to be compatible, but you can check the QVL list to see if Asus has specifically certified it [asus.com].

I've heard that it's better to buy them in sets, when you intend to use them that way. I don't know if it makes a practical difference for normal use though.

I don't know why people like Newegg, honestly. They were OK before they were bought out. Now though? Lmao. Their CS is absolute shit. I'd much rather buy from Amazon, and pay tax. Why? Because if anything goes wrong, it's usually as simple as a few clicks to get a refund, replacement etc.

It's a good deal though, yeah.

Bit OT, but:
NewEgg now charges tax (at least for me in IL, where they don't even have a distribution center).

What's worse is that their tax rates seem exhorbitant. Whoever coded their checkout isn't using local data for tax rates.

Spot on. Loved Newegg maybe 10 years ago.

Now, it's Amazon or bust. PRIME 1-2 day shipping, easy return/refund, no questions asked, no stocking fees, or shipping cost, etc.

Heck, there are occasions where I didn't like the item, Amazon just told me to keep it or throw it in the trash, while they issue the refund.

How often do you use CS? So you buy $5k a year worth of stuff, and rather pay $500 in sales tax, cause once a year you might have an issue with $100 product. Nevermind. Don't forget to buy the extended warranty.

Wrong on the restocking fee. Amazon will change you a restocking fee if you return something pass their 30 days window. It just happened to me. But yeah. I do love the Amazon experience.
