First time poster so go easy on me...

Found what appears to be a great price for Lego Tower Bridge. This set is $240 on legostore.com and $212 on Amazon. Works out to under $0.05 per piece and free shipping or in-store pickup from Walmart.com

Who says they have to be for him? 🙂 I use it as an excuse to buy sets for me.

my 8yo built this when he was 6... you'd be surprised what they can do! My 4yo is building the vw beetle as I type this (no school due to hurricane).

Ah, same here west of Raleigh. Just some rain. Moved from midwest a year ago and I swear they close school for anything here! We could have Tornados on the ground and still have school in KS.

It took me about 8 hours, with 1 or 2 breaks + a cheesesteak, to complete this set. As suggested, I worked on both "towers" at the same time as the steps are the same. Otherwise, it would have taken MUCH longer. It's a beautiful set, though. It served as my entertainment center's centerpiece. I'm hoping to get the Parliament building to compliment it.

I wouldn't follow the age ranges. My son got the Nexo Knight Fortrex for his 5th birthday. 1100+ pieces, rated 9-14 years old. It took him a few weeks of building different sections, but he was able to do the entire build. I realize this is a much bigger build, but if you challenge your child and it's something they like to do, I bet they can complete this build.

This is not a toy. It's a highly sophisticated interlocking brick system.

My 5 year old enjoyed helping me with the Saturn V set.
