I am looking for a power reclining sofa. I liked this one https://www.ashleyfurniture.com/p...70147.html

I really like the sofas that are "two double oversized recliners together" - but I am not seeing many less than Ashley's price of $899

It has great reviews on Ashley but I can't find reviews anywhere else. I do see a lot of online complaints regarding the quality of Ashley though I did own a recliner chair and it was decent though I only owned it for two years and sold it.

Any opinions or suggestions would be helpful.

I have an Ashley pleather sofa for 8 years now. The fake leather cushions deterioated and I had to pay the dealer $100 for 3 covers and re-use the stuffing from the original cushions. Except for that, no issues.

I think its cheap sturdy furniture, probably a bit higher grade than IKEA stuff. I'd definitely shop around though, I saw the same item vary considerably between 3 diff stores in the same zipcode.

When I had bought my new home around 15 years ago we were on a tight budget for furnishings because we tried putting down as much as we could pre mortgage. Because of the price of Ashley furniture and one of their better sales going on at the time, we bought two sets of couches and a bedroom set from them.

Quite honestly, I will never buy from Ashley again. We still have the bedroom set because no one sees it except myself and my wife but the quality is crap. Broken handles on literally half the drawers that I've had to replace with ones that look similar because you can't find exact matches. Flimsy drawers and tracks that I've had to fix myself. The tracks wiggle loose due to cheap manufacturing and then require you to take it upon yourself to jerry rig fixes to make them sturdier and work as they're supposed to.

And that's just the bedroom set, never mind the couches. Terrible 'stuffing' or cushioning, divets formed very quickly. The pleather is crap, just doesn't hold up over time and like the bedroom set, the frame of the couches is not sturdy and when new everything looks great but give it a few short years and things fall apart quickly.

We've now bought new couches from Raymour and Flanagan. There are probably better lesser known brands out there but they're close to the house and the quality on the ones we chose has been FAR superior to Ashley. Enough that I'd buy from them again and recommend them to others like I am now.

Bump, I'm in the market as of today now. Lazyboy? I'll have to research. I bought Ashley expensive bedroom set and the tops have the worst easy to scratch finish. After getting burned on that I'm scared of the place.

They have very cheap made furniture and I have personally had to try to deal with them with getting warranty work done and the refused to stand behind the warranty extras they sold. The saying you get what you pay for is very true when it comes to Ashley Furniture. My advice would be to stay away from the if you can afford to

We purchased a sectional sofa and it's with out a doubt, the worst furniture-investment we've ever made. The cushions are terrible and every place in the couch sags... After six months. We put plywood underneath and it still sags. I see why people nickname it "trAshley." Stay away! We should have gone to LaZboy.

There are a lot of them, but it really depends on your budget to what level of quality you'll get. I'm a big fan of Haverty's and Ethan Allen, both of which have higher prices but will last you many, many years - or they have our family. La-Z-Boy used to have good quality but my folks bought a sectional this time 2-years ago and it wasn't the quality that it used to be. They'll likely have to replace it in a few years.

I ended up returning the sofa. They took it back and refunded suprisingly. I did have a Ludden recliner chair that I was happy with. May buy a sofa from R2Go , not sure if any different
