Newegg has the WD Black NVMe M.2 2280 500GB PCI-Express 3.0 x4 3D NAND Internal Solid State Drive for $119.99 with free shipping and a $18 E gift card you can use in December. It's one of the quickest M.2 ssd drives available today and would be an awesome SSD to use for your operating system.

Don't fall for it peoples! Jk, buy it if you need it, pretty good price

B(‿ˠ‿)TT.. I have a feeling they know something we don't lol. Like the price of ssd's will drop more than 15% by the time we get to use the giftcards.

Hence we already gave them our money in a form of a giftcard where we HAVE to spend it on newegg. In other words, they're cashing out on us as much as they can before the drop lol

It's fine though if you already shop a lot on newegg.

The blue is only SATAIII speed. This is PCI-E.

WD Black advertised speeds of up to 3400/2500 (R/W)
Adata SX8200 advertised speeds of up to 3200/1700 (R/W)

Not saying that people are going to notice a huge difference between the speeds of both, but those are the listed speeds.

Rakutan had the ADATA XPG SX8200 480GB for $110 and it's a much faster NVMe drive. I got one with a promo code for $93.xx.

This isn't bad butt I just think there are better deals. OR wait a bit SSD process are anticipated to drop in process over the coming months.

can you qualify 'much faster' with a link? reading the reviews of each at tomshardware, they don't support your conclusion.

Sequential reads are fairly close but honestly irrelevant. We use those far less often. Real world performance looks much better going by this:

Recently saw a flame loading test where the ADATA came out on top (even topping the 970 EVO). Sure we are talking about a second or two, but still for the price it hard to beat.

Most tasks don't even surpass the limit of SATA3 (300MB/s). I can 100% guarantee a person couldn't tell the difference between those two drives.

Wait, where is the Gift Card? Don't see mention of it anywhere...

NM, it's not included as an item, it's just the site offer.

Why would one chose this over the WD blue 500gb for $85?
