Dell G7 and this one have almost similar configuration. G7 has slightly better battery life and Thunderbolt 3 Port over this one which will enable you to add external GPU Docks. On the other hand, this model has a standard GTX 1060 vs the Max-Q version in Dell. So, overall you will get approximately 10% to 15% gaming performance over Dell. And the display on this is far superior over G7.

ALL these laptops including the 6 core 8750h and the gtx 1060 throttles with no exception.
The solution have been beaten to death:
- some optimization in windows settings
- undervolt
- liquid metal repasting

This acer has 3 advantages compared to the other ones:
- very silent for regular tasks
- 144hz screen (unheard of at this price point)
- full gtx 1060

Main cons:
- poor battery life as expected
- get hot while gaming out of the box
- no tb3

I posted the refurb deal and have this laptop . There is no better gaming laptop spec wise at this price point if you are ready to spent 2 hours tweaking it to your liking

The Dell G7 doesn't have the 144hz display.

The Thunderbolt 3 is important to me for future-proofing, so I'll stick with the Dell.

a refurb with the same specs was posted for $850 two weeks ago:

Yep, and most SDers missed it due to stock limitations - didn't even lasted for a day. I too hesitated too much due to a number of reviews of heat issues. But when I pulled the trigger, it was no more.

I'm thinking of this one with the same price point:

https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07FYRT..._lig_dp_it [Monetized]

Not 1 is to 1 comparison due to drive and memory but if the price just falls a bit so that I could get another 8GB of stick. But the thermals as users says are better.

This was $1200 and it was already a good deal for the specs, specially considering the 144 hz display and the better graphics vs the Dell G7. At $1100 I think it's the best option right now, don't know if I should wait for black friday deals tho. Any advice?????? Big Grin
