The solution have been beaten to death:
- some optimization in windows settings
- undervolt
- liquid metal repasting
This acer has 3 advantages compared to the other ones:
- very silent for regular tasks
- 144hz screen (unheard of at this price point)
- full gtx 1060
Main cons:
- poor battery life as expected
- get hot while gaming out of the box
- no tb3
I posted the refurb deal and have this laptop . There is no better gaming laptop spec wise at this price point if you are ready to spent 2 hours tweaking it to your liking

The Thunderbolt 3 is important to me for future-proofing, so I'll stick with the Dell.

I'm thinking of this one with the same price point:

Not 1 is to 1 comparison due to drive and memory but if the price just falls a bit so that I could get another 8GB of stick. But the thermals as users says are better.
