The Costco deal for the 65" Vizio pq65-f1. Blows this out of the water.

The q6 series is edge lit and does not compare with the Q8 series.

Vizio not Samsung. The Vizio is full array backlit.

Depends on who you ask and what you value. I'd say the best overall is Samsung. It has better upscaling.. So 720p or worst content won't like crap. People don't realize this untill they view a source video that isn't the best quality
. Also has better contrast and not as reflective with lights in the room. How noticeable these things are, would depend on the individual. Maybe someone can feel it's minimal and worth saving $$$ with the Vizio.

Where are you getting your information from in regards to the brightness? Maybe contrast ratio is better, but Vizio P Quantum is brighter, check rtings, not arguing about the upscaling though

edit:

this is Q8, Vizio P Quantum is miles better than Q8, for some reason, I thought you were comparing Q9, you are totally wrong

Got it from rtings but you are correct on it not being brighter. Maybe a typo or I got mixed up with the two. Edited my comment. Thanks.

I am a huge fan of QLED, but for this price you better get an OLED panel, there is a sale every other day for LG C8. Most likely it's going to be a bedroom TV considering the size. Anything bigger than 55", go with QLED, it's brighter and you gonna appreciate it more during the daytime and would be a perfect TV for your living room, BTW I am referring to Samsung's Q9, it's also FALD and it offers more zones and almost OLED like blacks.

Q8 is FALD, you are right, but you don't get as many zones as with Q9, don't know whether they make the latter 55" size. I think it's still overpriced for LCD TV
