I'm noticing a lot of sales on cards lately. Is something getting ready to happen that might cause price drops? I'm wanting to add a single fan or low profile card to my bar top arcade. Currently thinking about a 1050 but don't mind waiting until Black Friday if a significant move is coming.

Likewise, I'm still running a gtx 970 and the itch to upgrade is getting there.

Ex miners are still dumping their gear on eBay, there's excess supply right now. If you're ok with a used card. You can find great deals on eBay. I got a 1070ti for $265 a couple months ago.

Cryptos continue to fall so these cards should be crashing in price soon to where they should be. I'd suggest waiting. I will say my 3gb 1060 card is stuttering in Forza 4 as the textures are getting to big. Need to turn down the texture quality. But even $400 for a 1080 is totally ridiculous.

yes. i think the horror stories are exaggerated, it anything you are always protected with ebay buyer protection for 30 days, even it the seller says "no refunds"(they dont get to decide that on ebay). i got a off-crypto 1060 6gb for $160 in perfect condition in box, stress tested it for a week to make sure nothing was weird. i couldnt be happier, probably extended the life of my rig another 2 years.

Good idea to check out eBay. I will wait for prices to crash. Put an offer for $150 for a 1070 8gb. Will see what happens. I can wait for sure.

I think the 1060 with 6gb will be good for 1080p games for several more years. Good buy. Wish I had the 6gb card vs the 3gb card.

I wouldn't buy eBay cards dumped by crypto miners. They used it 24 hours/7days week. It's abused cards, so I would avoid it.

I recently sold my 1060 6gb since I upgraded to a 1440 monitor. At 1080, the 1060 played all games with ease at mostly max settings. It'll be a good spot for 1080 gamers for a long time I think, esspecially since the 20xx series is not doing well

thats just your perception. farms that know what they are doing undervolt them because it decreases the failure rate. abused? nah.

Agreed. I bought a 1070 from an obvious miner three months ago. Stressed it thoroughly the first week and it exceeded my expectations. He hadn't even pulled all the plastic off the card. It runs perfectly and if you can build a computer you can change the TIM and pads on a card if it ever gets to be a problem.
