Avoid. Ours lasted about 4 months of regular use before the gears in one of the wheels stripped. It took a month for them to send a replacement wheel, after which the battery was dead. It moves about 5 feet off the base before it gives up. They now claim they can't send me a battery due to customs and offer no solution nor refund even though it's still under warranty. My next stop is to see if Amex will refund it under purchase protection.

To each their own, I guess.

I bought this unit for $135 from Amazon during the 11/23/2017 deal.

I keep it upstairs where it's carpeted. Haven't had any mechanical issues, though it does catch on the floor mat in the restroom. It's able to sense the drop off at the staircase and doesn't stumble down. If I run it downstairs it's likely to get caught under the refrigerator door.

It doesn't have a powerful suction and won't replace a regular vacuum cleaner for certain applications. Honestly, I should have just put the cash towards a good vacuum cleaner. I'd rather spend the short amount of time effectively cleaning than listening to this unit bump around for 45 minutes.

got this for around the same price last time from amazon.

To my surprise this actually works well despite not having a "vision" or "eye".... super long battery life and it is able to return to its docking almost 100% of the time.

definitely not as smart or as strong suctioned as Neato, but its much cheaper and does a good enough job on bare surfaces and does an ok job in carpet.

Bought one a year ago. Been mostly happy with it. Loves to drag small rugs/mats around and had to rig it to make less noise once it started getting loud due to parts rubbing.

Got this last time this deal popped up and like others was really surprised. This is our first and only vacuum robot so nothing to compare to but it does a great job. We have it in our dining room which is larger than just the table and chairs and it's had no problems at all. We do lift chairs on the table just to help it move more fluid instead of hitting all the legs and it seems to help. Doesn't handle carpet with fringe or rugs in the bathroom well at all (we ruined a brush that way). All in all I would recommend if you've been on the fence about getting one, this is a great starter vacuum!

I have the same model and preferred this over the Roomba for the price and battery. I couldn't get over the cost of a Roomba with a Nicad battery. This does just fine with our thinner rugs and hard floors.

Are these smart enough to not go over a step down into a lower level?

Depends. What's the height difference? A standard stair step will trigger the drop sensor. My a4s has no issues cleaning the upstairs, never fallen down the stairs

I got one of these on a whim almost exactly a year ago and I love it. I watch dogs for people as a side gig and this thing is amazing at picking up fur and bits of string debris. It runs at random and over a week will hit the vast majority of the floor. I only just used my traditional Dyson vacuum for the first time in a year yesterday because I needed to get the house ready for visiting relatives.

I initially had trouble with a few chair placements that the iLife a4s kept getting trapped on but after making some adjustments it hasn't been a problem. Sometimes I think I'd go for a more advanced vacuum that maps out the house if I could do it over again but this was so much cheaper it's hard to be too bothered by the somewhat random aspect of its cleaning.

Real review. I got this on the same deals a few months back. Pretty good for under $150. Mine just so happens to get stuck under the fridge. Still amazed at how much it picks up on a daily basis. I have set to run everyday at 9am.
