AmazonBasics Book Safe - Key Lock is discounted to $6.99 with prime free ship.

AmazonBasics Book Safe - Key Lock, Red https://www.amazon.com/dp/B078HGR...3BbNK8EPVA

Inconspicuously conceal valuables with this AmazonBasics book-shaped safe. The box looks like an actual book, blending in seamlessly with other books on a bookshelf, yet it creates super-sneaky storage space inside for storing valuables. The AmazonBasics book lock box comes in handy whether traveling or at home.

Common hiding places

What you may think is a unique hiding place is probably not.

"From the stove, to the freezer, to the fish tank and toilet tank, book shelves and boxes of cereal," a burglar wrote.

Wish this had a soft interior. Metal jewelry banging around inside a hollow metal interior is a dead giveaway.

So they'll just steal the whole thing?

I'm guessing this is ONLY good for keeping kids away from stuff?

It's basically just hiding stuff from burglars. I don't think the first thing burglars would go for is hit the bookcase. Although a dictionary is sort of a giveaway. Who keep dictionaries nowadays? If I were a lawyer with loads of law books, then it might work.

And law books are expensive so those would probably get stolen too.

It also can be good for locking up medication. My son has epilepsy and when he got old enough to switch from liquid to a pill , the doctor said many people lock up the medication. I never thought about doing it but the doctor said in this day, you have to be extra careful.

Got this a few years ago to keep cash from craigslist sales. It's ok, but had to reglue the binding to the metal in a year. On a small bookcase it does blend in well. Not bad for 7.00 bucks.
