Performance wise this is way better than google wifi, the 5ghz out paces it in range almost 2 to 1 alone.
I had to disable 5ghz bc of connectivity issues. Nest and some of my computers wouldn't connect when 5ghz was enabled. I only use 2.4ghz now. sucks man.

Have it, love it. Full coverage in 3 story house and gets very far out in the yard also.
I wish I could afford a 3stories house.

what is the major difference between mw3 vs mw6? mw3 is only 80$ 3 pack. Is mw worth extra 50$?
The mw6 has about 2x the range and gigabit Ethernet vs fast Ethernet over the mw3

My 2 cents:

You have the patience and luxury of trying out the mw6 for a week, do it. Nice speeds and reliability - that is if can get over the configuration.

If you value 5-10 min setup and auto updates, don't mind the less real range on the the 5ghz band (and willing to pay more) Google WiFi is a better choice. It's refreshing to not have update and/or reflash a router before getting it to work.

In Michigan, I'd say 2000-3000 sq ft is pretty common for starter homes, but that obviously depends where you live and what you do for a living. With the Big 3 here, a lot of people can afford relatively large homes and homes are pretty affordable here, too.

3 pack for 6000 sqft? do you guys all have 6k sqft house?
This thing throws wifi a full block away from my house un all directions. And I lu e in an urban area. Had it set up for better than 6 months from the $85 dollar Staples deal a while back. Can't complain. Best system I've ever had but the app doesnt allow for a quick reboot.

I bought the MW6 3-pack a few months ago. Two of the three units worked instantly, no problems at all. But for the life of me, I can't get the third to connect. Whenever I plug it in, all three go down (all of my devices get kicked off the network). I did email support and they gave me some suggestions, but so far, no joy. I really need to spend some time with the thing to figure out what the heck is going on.

I will say that even with just the two units, the coverage is fine (I have a relatively small house) and the speed/reliability are solid. I just wish I could get all three units to play nice with one another.
Update the firmware on someone else's network. Then reset it. Should connect fine after that.

ok, thanks, I can try that. Just update the firmware on the one unit that doesn't work? Or all three?

I was waiting for Google WiFi to drop in price but saw this on sale and bought it a week ago from Newegg for $140, I was quite skeptical since I was upgrading from my Netgear Nighthawk. With the Nighthawk I had a lot of dead spots around the house, but once I set the Nova up I started seeing stable speeds of 120mbps all around (we pay for 100mbps) and so far I haven't had any issues. UI is extremely simple and only provides basic options but other than that it's an excellent choice.

This is going to be a dumb question, but we just got business internet & phone at our business, using Spectrum Modem for WiFi & phone. Would we have to use this as a router and figure out how to configure it with the phone or could this be set up as a "range extender" so to speak?

It's unclear to me exactly what version of the Velop is going to be going at Walmart. The ad says tri-band, which would be significantly better than this, but the MSRP I think is the price for the lower quality dual-band Velop that often goes on sale at Walmart. If it's the dual-band it's not significantly better than this other than a bit more configuration ability.

Here is some input: https://youtu.be/zdwl0ORgY9g this is a review from youtube regarding several brands including google. I think this is a very good comparison between each router. It is a great budget mesh wifi system to solve one thing total coverage. Linksys velop is twice or three times more expensive but it is a tri-brand. https://www.cnet.com/reviews/link...em-review/

You can set them up in AP mode, I posted a link earlier in this thread with step by step guide from Tenda on how to do it, if you flip to previous page.

If its the lower end Velop they are one of the worst mesh systems out, so this is way WAY better. If its the Tri band higher end Velop its better but also a lot more expensive.

Here is the review to the dual band velop which is trash. Shows the Tenda Nova crushing it on the test charts.
