Great deal. Add Wall Switch to title because I had no idea what it was for until following the link.

hey guys, how is this with LED Compatibility?

i have a few places where my old Zwave switches (which were intended for incandescent/fluorscent) cause my LED lights to flicker. I know it's an issue with the switch basically gone bad, but because of lack of resistance in the bulbs.

is this Switch LED compatible (I know often that list of compatibility is small), but I'd rather only now purchase ones that at least are made during the ERA of LED and willing to say they work with some LED than to continue putting in the older switches which never accounted for LED.

also, is there a non-dimming version of this? sometimes i find with LED bulbs, if they bulbs are not intended to be dimmable and you put a a dimmable switch, you are asking for trouble.

this seems to be the switch version:

not sure why they would charge more for the switch than the dimmable

The non-dimmer is HS WS-100+. The dimmer is HS WD-100+. Companion switches (for 3-way setups) is HS WA-100+.

I have about 10 of these at home and the ones with the latest firmware are bulletproof with LED lights. I have Feit (Costco) flood light LEDs throughout my home. I do have a few of these on older firmwares, and they flicker a bit. I am going to upgrade the firmware on them next week and hope that fixes the problem.

These have wonderful response with both Vera & Smartthings (the 2 controllers I've used with them). However, upgrading firmware is a pain -you need to buy software & a SmartStick+ from Homeseer (you can get both as a package for $35ish on sale -- a waste of money just to stop a flicker, but necessary). The only ones I have with older firmware are used ones I got on eBay -- even those go for about $30, so this deal is spectacular.

Agreed, seems silly. My guess (based on nothing but my opinion) is that they're trying to unload the 100 series in favor of the 200 series. The 200 series have some cool features (colored LEDs that you can program based on other z-wave devices in your home) ... but those bells & whistles aren't of importance to me, so these 100 switches are what I like for the price.

I have about 20 of these in my house. They are rock solid dimmers. Scene-capability is really important to me and these both respond to scenes (very quickly) and can initiate scenes by way of multiple gestures (up twice, down three times, etc). Note that these will not run locally and require an official custom device handler for SmartThings. This hasn't been an issue for me, maybe a second or two delay activating scenes.

thanks, your comments about flickering with the older firmware concern me

is there any possible way to confirm that i wont have to upgrade the firmware and that the ones purchased will be latest? does this website/company have enough knowledge about the products to ensure they send me only rthe latest?

in any case, might be moot point though as none of my dimmer switches have an issue, its just my non-dimmer switches that have the problem.

You are right to second-guess yourself on the non-dimmers. I have one of those I got on ebay that has very old firmware (I think 5.12 or something) and since I upgraded to LEDs, when I click "on", it tends to turn on, off, and back on again all within about a second. Again - this ONLY happens (for me) with ones with older firmware. The company has been very responsive to me with customer service requests, I do suggest checking the firmware is the latest and greatest before purchasing if you are unable/unwilling to upgrade the firmware after purchase (which is completely understandable)

also agree those color leds are insignificantly stupid. i mean if ur color coding those as a response to an action, you have way too much time (or money) on your hand https://static.slickdealscdn.com/ima...ies/tongue.gif
I don't think it's agreeing when you go to that extreme. Sorry that the color LEDs aren't useful to you personally but some people actually like that feature and find it useful. But go ahead, call it stupid and belittle those that use them if it makes you feel better.

Maybe try educating yourself and thinking outside of your tiny box before being rude.

Right - my opinion is that it's overkill to program the LEDs! I can't imagine needing to teach my wife, "So honey, if the light switch by the pantry has a purple color, it means the garage door is open right now. If the light switch by the back door has a blue color on the 3rd LED, that means that the thermostat is in cool mode, if it turns red it's in heat mode." Reminds me of that Geico commercial where the guy says something like, "Hey Alexa, tell the garbage disposal to book a flight to New York for me"
