This qualifies for HP Instant Ink - free ink for life!

Sign up: https://instantink.hpconnected.com/us/en/l/

Details: if you print 15 pages per month or less, HP will monitor your ink levels via the internet and send more ink right to your door when needed. Just be careful - they can also monitor the number of pages printed and you'll be charged for printing more than 15 ($1 / each additional 10 pages I believe).

Since ink will last much more than 15 pages, new cartridges are only sent as-needed, not every single month.

Call me whatever you want, but I feel like doing that is unethical and just adding unnecessary e-waste. But hey, to each their own.

Avoid this at all cost, they will suck the ink and your wallet dry.
Get yourself a Brother printer, more expensive, cheaper ink, but overall it's cheaper in the long run.

It works with HP Instant ink which is free for 15 pages a month or $3 for 50 pages etc. this has a scanner, laser printers often do not.

Just got mine from Amazon yesterday when they were $19. Worked out of the box with Ubuntu. Great printer I needed for a project.

That IS the correct answer if you use your printer infrequently. It's what I use and it never dries out etc.

Highly recommend Brother mono laser printer. I have AIO that I have had for several years. Cheap Linkyo toner works great. Never a problem.

Get the brother multi for 39-59 on sale, much better with 3 separate color and black ink cartridges, and you can buy the those cheap on eBay or Amazon that work well. This is just a waste of time and money this HP. The combo ink cartridge is stupid and I don't even know if they make a good replacement one. Plus the second one color runs out so the whole cartridge away. And it stops printing.

I thought this price point was for one and done use. The ink probably cost 2-3x the printer itself.
