Best Buy was selling 2TB MyPassport drives via fleeBay for $30 each a few years back, they sold out really quick. I managed to snag one after I'd placed my order and gotten confirmation, then a 'sold out' notice a day later -- I suspect it's only because I only ordered one & then spent half an hour on the phone with Best Buy to get them to sub a different color (black) of the exact same drive. If I'd ordered 30 of these, I doubt they would have done that.

I've yet to see a deal like that again. Best I've seen is $35 for 2TB MyPassport. I wasn't looking for more storage yet, or else I would have grabbed one. Now I can only wait till Black Friday :/

Unfortunately, with the whole tariff thing going on, I doubt electronics will be cheap anymore. If anything, I feel like they're going to just get more expensive.
RIP Tigerdirect and their rebates. Used to get sub 50 2TB drives.

The Xbox one S and X have Sata 3 so it's a 6Gb/s connection, the original Xbox One has Sata 2 which is 3Gb/s. Ps4 and all Xbox Ones have USB 3.0 ports so you'll get a 6Gb/s connection so games would load faster via USB if you have an original Xbox, but same speed on Ps4 and the newer Xbox consoles.
I can attest to this statement. Running the 2TB (got it when BB had them for just under $40) variant of this external on my OG XB1. All my games are on the external, all the apps on the internal. Works very well. It's been about 8 smooth months. Knock on wood.

Will this work with my Xbox?
Yes. With it being USB 3.0, it'll load games faster than the internal crap hard drive. It'll just need to be formatted for your xbox and will ONLY be usable on your xbox, nothing else.

It'll tell you to set it up once it is recognized by the xbox.

Usb is soldered to the drive if I remember.
Confused.
I went to the local store, the sales guy said it can be used as internal, he owns this drive also. Can someone please confirm?

Just checked. My hdd called "my passport" and not easystore. They look exactly the same. Mine is soldered 100%. Do a search for easystore portable shuck.. before you buy.

I decided to order one for my PS4. 10 minutes later I got a text from BestBuy saying my order is ready for pick up. That was fast!

No, This is just a USB drive. You are going to pay a lot more than $80 for a wireless hard drive.

Personally I have a 1TB connected to my router which acts as my NAS.

I got a new portable 4TB USB3 hard drive for $59 during the Woot Off. But it was a Seagate and I don't think wasting all day watching it was worth the $40 I saved off retail. Smilie
Still, I would think these would hit around $60 for Black Friday.

Do you know of any solid tutorials for setting one of these up as an NAS with my router? Bought one of these and this will be my first time ever doing this

I don't know what your router is or what is supports. I have a Netgear Nighthawk and it has 2 USB ports. A single USB 2.0 for turning something like a basic USB printer into a network printer and a single USB 3.0 for attaching external hard drives for network storage. You would need to read the tech specs for your router.
