For everyone that is asking,no, these are not shuckable.

The USB connector is soldered to the drive.

Any better deal expected around BF for a 4TB USB powered drive?

Looking for one for my Xbox One X.

a great deal

BUT would not trust them with any critical data

BUT then again I would not and no one ever should trust ANY drive with critical data
always backup to at least two drives ... and keep them in separate locations ... etc ...

so I got two to backup critical data onto them! and keep it in another location ...

sure they might be $5 or so cheaper later ... but then so will everything ... especially in 2019 and 2020 ... who cares ...

other things to keep in mind
these do NOT have build in hardware encryption like WD Passports do (I always use that)
these are probably not as fail proof as WD Passports
but with 2 year warranty - not as bad as 1 year ... should be OK

I was eyeing drives last year and to be honest, the best ones came from Best Buy just like this a few weeks before BF. I actually held out thinking I'd get a better deal but they never did.

Last year my local Wal-Mart had a 2 TB My Passport Ultra for $35 before Christmas. I didn't use SD much then so I didn't post here but it might be worth checking WM between now and XMAS for those who were looking for a 2 TB.

Create secure, reliable copies of important documents with this Western Digital easystore portable storage bundle. The 4TB hard drive accommodates a large volume of videos and pictures, and the WD software ensures automatically updated copies of files via continuous or scheduled backup settings. This Western Digital easystore portable storage bundle includes a 32GB USB flash drive that offers extra space.

Not a bad deal, although I just RMA'd one of these that failed recently I had picked up last BF.

Fortunately, and this is the first time in decades of using computers I can say this, I was able to recover over 99% of my data, nearly the full capacity of the drive (~3.6 tb), to another drive.

The new drive, which I used for data recovery and general storage until the RMA'd replacement arrives, was a 4tb Seagate Backup Plus, similar to this drive in size and performance, that I picked up for about $84 + tax.
What program did you use to recover files?
