This is a pretty solid deal for a brand new lightstrip. The best deal I've gotten so far on these was around $45-50 for a refurbished one. With the gift card this equates to about the same price (assuming you have something else you want to buy from Best Buy).

With the prices on these dropping everywhere though it kind of makes me wonder if they are about to release a new gen or something....

I think the aliexpress variant sortve showed how overpriced they were making these. tbh I've had some issues with the Gledopto though, so at $45 I'd consider this.
Yeah I agree, that $90 MSRP is outrageous. Couldn't justify buying them for that... They are pretty great though so I'm glad I managed to get a few for a reasonable price. Put out as much light as the regular a19 bulbs, and can be put into all kinds of unique/creative locations. Color matching is perfect with the gen3 bulbs as well

Good price for new. I have several and love them. They have worked great for under cabinet lighting. I'm curious if they are trying to drive sales towards their new product (by clearing these out):

https://www.bestbuy.com/site/philips-hue-play-white-color-ambiance-smart-led-bar-light-2-pack-black/6298635.p?skuId=6298635

Especially for people looking for behind-TV lighting, or if they are just clearing stock for next version. Idk

Edit: note, looks like you have to make separate transactions per item in order to include $10 GC with each strip

I am concerned that the multiple transaction might flag them to cancel all but one of the GCs. The main item page mentions "The e-gift card will be created and sent out after your eligible product is fulfilled or picked up in-store" however in the cart it says "instructions to redeem are emailed after order confirmation." If the second is true I could apply the GC to a second Hue on a new transaction.

How do they get the power to light them on ? Can they be cut and put under cabinet? I mean put a strip under each cabinet?

Transformer block going to a regular outlet (similar to a laptop). Yes they can be cut.

They have an AC adapter, they cannot be hardwired. They can be cut and placed under cabinet. Note that you can't buy extra power supplies, so if you cut it you cannot re-use that last end without looking for aftermarket parts.

Damn. I just bought a 2-pack color starter kit and an additional color bulb and switch a few weeks ago on Amazon. This 3-pack for $120 would have saved me a bunch of money Frown

I own three light strips, two of which I placed inside the house on windows. The light is used for decoration:holiday lights all year around.

I definitely recommend. Install once and then forget about it.

If you need bulbs, you're likely better off waiting just another two weeks for Black Friday where both amazon and Best Buy go crazy.

If you own a echo device and are a first time user you can get this for even cheaper.
