For those considering the new Google Home Hub.....this is a better deal IMO.

Better speaker and also has a camera which the google home hub doesn't have. Some people may not want the camera though. Also 8" display for lenovo and google home hub has a 7" display.
It does have a physical door for the camera though.

My wife says the 8" isn't big enough, she wants a 10" one. Anyone know if that is going on sale?
You sure she was talking about the Smart Display?

Why wouldn't you just get an Android tablet with maybe a speaker dock?
Sure, this hub is cheaper, but at least you can do way more with a tablet and travel around with it.

This or Google Hub? I researched but couldn't find any reason why to pass Lenovo one versus the new Google Hub. Any input is appreciated.
I have not used the Lenovo, but have been using the Google Hub for the last week or so. The live album slide show with auto ambient dimming is pretty awesome on the Hub. I don't know if the lenovo does that (or as well), but since you are not interacting with this thing 99% of the time, the "updated digital frame" capabilities are nice. I also prefer the look of the Hub (with hidden speaker).

If I had to buy today I would consider the smart display to save cash but I suspect if you wait we'll see the Hub at $99. The argument for the hub is that Google will give better, quicker, and more frequent updates to software. It also doesn't have a camera for the security minded. If you want the camera I guess the smart display becomes more valuable. The display on the hub is better despite being sightly smaller. Not sure on audio quality.
Walmart is going to have the Google Home Hub for $99 black friday

THIS. It has a camera when you need it, can be hidden when you don't.

I had the Lenovo 10 inch for a month and returned it when my Hub arrived. I didn't plan to use the camera and the Lenovo unit was very large. I do wish the Hub was a little bigger. The Lenovo had gotten the new updates just a few days after the Hub was released. The Lenovo is running Android Things and Hub is running a Cast based software. They both look the same but who knows if there will be any difference in the future. The adaptive display feature of Hub is much nicer than the Lenovo. For the same 99 I would get Hub over Lenovo personally.

how's the audio comparison, since you've had both? obviously not expecting anything ground breaking... but if it's where the Echos are, that's fine (hopefully more mids and less lows than the stupid Echo Show.)

really wish Wyze would make something for the Google devices already... would like to dump my Echo Shows, they're really pieces of crap.

Best buy will have the hub + $10 bb card for $99 for Black Friday. For faster updates for features I would go with the Google hub.

I suspect Lenovo will update theirs once and then never again. You know Google will continue to make improvements to the software.

The Home Hub was $99 already a month ago at Home Depot (of all places) in case you missed it: https://slickdeals.net/f/12128137-7-google-home-hub-chalk-or-charcoal-pre-order-99-free-shipping?v=1

And as several have stated here already, it'll be $99 on BF too at multiple places. Just comes down to a matter of if you want the bigger screen + camera or not. I'm really tempted to get one of these, but at the same time I have a tablet and Insignia Google Home speaker, so do I really need this?? laugh out loud

Yes. This is on SD therefore you desperately need this. All jokes aside, I think I'll get the hub just for the picture frame sake. I have so many Google photos that I want to rotate through that this would be my digital album. The rest automation stuff will be bonus.

If I'm not mistaken the camera has a cover that you flip up to uncover it.
