For those considering the new Google Home Hub.....this is a better deal IMO.

Plex has chromecast ability right?. These devices are chromecast enabled.
I don't know if you can initiate Plex from it. But using a phone or tablet you can certainly cast Plex content to a ChromeCast. And once it is running, you can use voice commands from a Home to pause/stop/play.

Wanting to use the google home hub as a digital photo frame as it's primary and likely sole function... any thoughts on how these two compare in that use case? I've read good things about home hub as a digital photo frame, but the 7" is a bit small.

Thanks in advance!

No. My employer uses captive portal wifi. It'd be nice to use it at my desk.
ah, that's even stranger Smilie
why not just use a tablet? since the microphone array is kinda moot at work...

I expect Google Hub to be $99 for black friday. Google Home started at $199 IFIRC and you can now get them on Ebay for $60.

The Lenovo has video calls. Other than that, most reviews give it to the Hub.

I have Google Home, Home mini, Philips Hue, TP Link Smart plugs, etc. The more different brands you get, the more difficult and complicated it is to use. I'm going to stick to Phillips Hue and Google brand stuff as much as I can. That being said, this offer is very tempting.

There is really no reason to buy electronics in November before Black Friday. I seriously doubt many items will be on sale now for lower than Black Friday, unless they are clearing stock for new things to be discounted in Black Friday.
I have 2 Google Home Hub & 1 Lenovo 10" Smart Display ( I also have both the 1st and 2nd generation Echo Show). The two have identical software experience (the underlining software are different, but to the user they are identical).

From my personal experience, some of the negatives of the Google Home Hub

- I personally think the display is a bit underwhelming, it's by no means bad but it's also certainly not "flawless" or "great" as stated by some reviewers.
- Of the 4 different types of "smart display" devices, the sound quality on the Home Hub is by far the worst.

This or Google Hub? I researched but couldn't find any reason why to pass Lenovo one versus the new Google Hub. Any input is appreciated.

They're pretty similar. The Lenovo one has a camera and can do video calls which is probably the biggest benefit. There is also a 10 inch version which is what me and my wife are hoping for. Just hoping to see it go down to 150.

If I had to buy today I would consider the smart display to save cash but I suspect if you wait we'll see the Hub at $99. The argument for the hub is that Google will give better, quicker, and more frequent updates to software. It also doesn't have a camera for the security minded. If you want the camera I guess the smart display becomes more valuable. The display on the hub is better despite being sightly smaller. Not sure on audio quality.
The Lenovo has a slider to block the camera, which is something Google should have done with the Home Hub. Also, the Lenovo runs on the more capable Android Things platform where as the Home Hub runs on a limited version of the Cast platform. The Lenovo has already been updated to get the new features that came with the launch of the Home Hub as well. So they aren't slow about that at all. For the price, the Lenovo is the way to go.

Any comparison to the facebook Portal? Is that not going to be on sale. I haven't checked the WM an Best Buy ads yet. Any reviews for comparing all 3?

I'd think twice about purchasing anything from Best Buy as they're making returns much more difficult, even with a receipt.

Google express code doesn't work with this. Any other means to knock the price down more?

FYI: Black Friday ads show that the Google Home Hub is going to be on sale for $99 at Target.
