Been watching the price of this for the last month to play with froza horizon, and the best deal for a while was $250 for the wheel + shifter combo, so I figure $200 for the wheel/pedals alone is a slick deal. Last year though around this time it looks like BB had $200 for wheel and a free shifter.

I did alot of research and I ended up with the thrustmaster t300 gt. I play it on pc .handles well once you get used to it. Assembly is hella easy too. Wonder how this g9 handles compared to mines.
I got the t300 off Amazon last year. It was backordered for months but 300+ was a steal

Holding out for $200 with shifter. Would work great for Forza and my arcade cabinet.
Would be nice to see / imagine how it looks if you describe it

yup wait for the shifter for $200. or better yet wait for the thrustmaster T300 with 3tpa pedal for $300. brushless motor, belt drive , no dead zone. super fast coutersteer for drifting.

Owned this for about a month before returning it. May have been a defective unit (don't think so) but just found it didn't really work well with forza 7. You really have to change too many settings between cars or at least when changing types of cars (muscle to formula one to track toy to truck) which made it very tedious and felt like I spent more time adjusting the wheel setting and tuning for each car than I did actually playing the game. It's also just a lot more work than you think to use a wheel for 10-15 minutes straight on Nurburgring. I also didn't feel like it quite captured the feel of driving either (changed lots of settings as well). The build quality is good but the lack of save profiles to keep various settings and just extra hassle involved with the wheel made me ultimately go back to just using a controller... and I rarely ever return a product.

I'd be careful about buying a racing wheel considering both the PS4 & Xbox are sort of at the end of the console cycle, and a lot of us who bought Racing wheels for the last gen got screwed over when they're suddenly no longer supported on the PS4 for no reason whatsoever. I bought a Driving Force GT for the PS3, still works great and is a lot of fun on the PS3, but it's not supported on the PS4 at all so I'd have to buy a new wheel to play racing games for the PS4. It is still supported on PC so if you're playing on PC only you should be good.

That's a $200 controller that's all of a sudden obsolete. There is some kind of weird little adapter thingie hack that you can buy/build that supposedly works decently to "emulate" a newer model racing wheel that is supported, but it's a lot of extra hassle with the adapter that also constantly needs to be connected to a computer in addition to the console everytime you play, and potentially adds lag as well which sort of ruins the whole point of playing racing games with a wheel. Just a warning for those of you not thinking about this and might end up with another obsolete wheel in a year or two when the next console gen comes around...

Thanks! I'm hoping to get Horizon 3 during the holiday season. I may just completely cheap out and get an old Forza and wheel for my Xbox 360 until I can spend some real money.
I posted a deal yesterday for the T150 Pro for $162.49 if you're interested, mine should be arriving tomorrow.

This is a really good deal, but I do want anyone considering this to keep in mind, we're very close to BF. Last year, all major retailers, not just Best Buy, had this + shifter for $199. If you absolutely don't want the shifter, go for it, but if you do want it, please wait a couple weeks. I myself am in the market for this and waiting for BF.

Props to OP.
I see this posted a LOT so I want to offer a rebuttal. That deal was up for a few hours at most, I purchased the shifter combo for store pickup. They were never able to source the shifter and the only recourse they offered me was to accept a return on the wheel (despite time on the phone with customer service and trips to several best buys). I would not count on that deal materializing.

Probably Gran Turismo Sport, Project Cars 2, and Dirt Rally. Maybe F1 2018, as well, but I've never played that series.

The wheel works great with PC, however, and support for older wheels doesn't get dropped on PC.

You may encounter an issue with some old games that don't natively support it, but being PC you can fix it by editing an .ini file or something similar.

For PC, get the G29 - it has 8 or so more buttons, so it's like getting a free button box compared to the G920.
