I have plex server installed on my shield for my attached storage hard drive. Is it possible to just transfer it to this shield if I buy this? I don't want to setup the server all over again..
I know there's a transfer process for PC to PC as I did it once. Should be one for shield if there's a file transfer interface. I don't have a shield but wonder at this price if I should get one. My plex server is on a Dell Optiplex, TV has 4k Roku and I have a Xbox One S

If I have a 4k TV with Roku built-in, xbox one S, and last gen echo dot, do I need this?
That's a question for yourself. Is there anything you are trying to do that those are not offering you?

Just wondering if I'm missing anything the Shield can do differently, better or additional to what I have already, which is:

- 4K streaming with Roku on 65" TCL
- Plex server on dedicated Dell Optiplex behind TV
- XB1 with 4k gaming, streaming and 4K blu-ray

I don't play Android games.

Edit: I also have a Logitech Harmony to control TV with Alexa

they finally matched Best Buy
That's pretty funny if you think about it. Best Buy is selling items made by Amazon. Discounting them with another item. That would be like Coca Cola selling a 6 pack of soda and you get free Pepsi with it too.

I don't need another dot. The NSA has kindly provided me with numerous home monitoring devices already.
That new creepy Facebook Portal device helps piece together the audio with video. Don't you want a device that moves and tracks you as you walk around your house recording you?

Is the Hulu app on the Shield still terrible with many features missing - primarily Live TV? Would like to get this for the ultimate Plex player to replace Xbox One S but need the Hulu App to be decent.

No you're good. Unless you wanted to reduce the power draw for the Plex server there is nothing for you to gain from this and Plex on PC gives you a lot more flexibility.

Dots have very little resale value. There are a ton of them on sale and guaranteed they are going to be dirt cheap during Xmas...

Why do you need another shield (and transfer plex configuration)? The hardware is exactly the same, but in a smaller form factor. Your current shield should serve/perform the same.
