Even 30 inches should be ok for checkin
Recently I bought one. Dimensions: 76 cm x 52.5 cm x 32 cm = 160.5 cms in total
Airlines limit is 158 cms. I am not sure whether they will accept it or not because of extra 2.5 cms. I will try.

Anyone have any experience how loud the wheels are on this thing? Nothing wrong with my current luggage, except when I walk down a sidewalk or moving walkway the noise turns a lot of heads.

Nah, they exceed 62 linear (total) inches, wheels/handles included. You will be charged for oversize if they decide to be anal about it. 28 and under is playing it safe.

I have the samonite one, https://shop.samsonite.com/luggag...6XXXX.html

I wouldn't enven think about using it a checked luggage, it is extremely easy to scratch. Also, the quality of the handle is pretty low,

The samsonite one lookes very similar to this amazon one. I wonder if it has the same issue.
This amazon case is not a copy of Samsonite Reflex, it's a copy of Samsonite Winfield. Hardshell cases have the best strength and capacity for their weight, allowing you to pack more but satisfy weight limits without cutting durability. The Winfield cases, like this amazon one, have a rough finish that I think looks "pre-scratched".

These cases are supposed to get scratched, that's the tradeoff for the weight savings. The exterior finish allows the scratches to somewhat blend in. If it still bothers you that your stuff gets a mark on it, this style of case isn't for you.

We've had the whole set of Winfield luggage for a few years now, and use it on flights 3-6 times per year, plus in the car on at least 1 road trip per month. Sure it has scratches but still functions like new. Compared to the real Winfield, this amazon one looks like it's missing the TSA lock, has cheaper wheels and cheaper handles. Might still be a decent deal though, I just personally haven't had luck with amazonbasics stuff.

They will likely accept it. But if you catch someone on a bad day, they will bust out the tape measure and hit you with the oversize fee.

I was super excited about this carry-on. The price and features combination was amazing. However, the shell cracked on the third flight. Luckily, you have a three-year warranty. It's only been a bit over a month for me, and I got a full refund. My wife has the same one, so let's see how long that one lasts. Personally, I'm switching to Travelpro.

Go Costco or go home. That return policy and product satisfaction are hard to beat. Amazon has a 30 day return policy and you can't get a hot dog for $1.50 when you go return the item.
I just returned one of these two months after purchase for a crack and was able to get a full refund. It comes with a three-year warranty.
