Part of Black Friday deals that are active now. Fairly new SKU that doesn't appear on Gourmia's site itself. 6qt capacity, 1700W power usage.

Anything other than fries and wings I can use this for? I, like others on this post, think I will use it once and that's it.
I use mine for many things..... I cook my steaks in it ... yes, steaks.... chicken breasts (Southern Fried Chicken anyone?), hot dogs, hamburgs, sausages.

What I'd recommend is that you pay close attention to SD when people post cookbooks. Oftentimes there will be a few air fryer cookbooks in there. I have probably 4 or 5 air fryer cookbooks loaded on my Amazon Kindle.

Is it better than just using the oven?
You have to remember... an air fryer is an "oven" of sort. It's more concentrated heat being that it's in a smaller cooking space. As for fries, you can adjust the temperature and time, to make them softer or crunchy.

What the heck, finally caved. I have a convection oven but im sure this will be more efficient for 99% of what we eat
I have a regular conventional oven, a countertop toaster oven and an air fryer. My conventional oven rarely gets used because of the other two appliances. They're smaller, less mess to clean up, and quicker to cook/reheat.

I've been looking for a good air fryer wanted to try this. Is this good for fried chicken and breaded porkchops? How many pieces of chicken can you cook on it?

We got the Gourmia from Costco a few months ago. Honestly, the air fryer is one of the more revelatory appliances I've owned. I use it for french fries (primarily homemade, NOT freezer), chicken breasts (fried or just "grilled"), "hard-boiled" eggs, freezer egg rolls and spring rolls, absolutely DELICIOUS shrimp (again, not "fried," just oil-brushed), and other things I'm sure I'm forgetting.

What I like about it is that I'm able to do a set-and-nearly-forget side dish or main dish, freeing me up to work on either the main course or a more complicated side.

On the downside — in our house — we can't use it AND the microwave at the same time, or we blow a circuit.

Also, the 5-quart isn't QUITE big enough to do what we want, at least as far as fresh-cut french fries. It does one cut potato amazingly, but more than about 1.5 potatoes and it bogs down, because it really shines when things have more surface area; too many fries means you need to spend a lot more time shaking the basket every few minutes (to get new areas exposed), and it takes longer . . . and they don't come out as crispy. Honestly, I'm considering picking up ANOTHER one of these, so I can do two batches of fries at a time (enough for the family dinner) . . . but, obviously, then I'd have another appliance kicking around, and I'd need to make sure it's on a different circuit in the house.

Anyway, YMMV, but I really love my air fryer.

Any good?
Anybody use this brand?
We got one for our wedding. I dunno if it's this thing particular, or just in general, but this air fryer sucks. It was no better than putting fries in the oven. We tried a couple methods. Feel like I am missing something.

How do these compare to the convection setting in a toaster oven? I got this one last year for $50 at Meijer:

I was going to get the 5 quarts gourmia air fryer from Costco for $59 plus tax. Jump on this deal because it's bigger and I had $10 gift card from the insignia Bluetooth speaker deal. Thanks OP very much.
Can you please provide a link for that ? $59

I believe this is the one they're referring to:

electricity kills the deal, unless you have cheap or free electricity. we have a 15 cents KW here so running this machine will raise my electric bill as well
I have to think this little appliance would be used for many of the tasks a full size oven would do otherwise. This little applicance has to use less electric than a full size oven.
