I think the G502 Proteus Spectrums are being discounted heavily now because the new G502 Hero model came out a couple of months ago with a 16K DPI sensor upgrade. It's doubtful you would ever need 16K DPI though and this is a really good deal on a great mouse. Ergonomically these feel very comfortable to use and there are extra weights included if you wish (However, the default weight without them is already pretty heavy so if you're a FPS player, I wouldn't recommend adding any).

As an addendum, Logitech customer service was good to me too. When my original G502 Proteus Core started having sensor problems, they sent me a new replacement at no charge which I still use to this day on my work cpu.
Yeah their customer support is second to none I just wish their products woukd last longer. Either way, buy with confidence because they will make it right when it fails.

Amazon price matching Best Buy as usual... I'm just annoyed that I ordered the mouse a couple days ago when it was $38.75. I should have held off and easily saved another $4. Stick Out Tongue

Great mouse. Upgraded from g402. The upgrades include: buttons stand out better for easier press, mouse wheel has a smooth and click mode (love the continuous smooth), braided cord and customizable weights. Worth the upgrade at this price. Also compared to g602 wireless and prefer quality of this one, especially the button and wheel.

One of the best, if not THE best, mouse I've ever owned. Feels great in the hand and the weight/shape is on point and the right amount of buttons for me. If you need a new mouse or just want another, this is a great one to own.
it is the best mouse right now Smilie plus 3 YEARS warranty !

I still roll the original Proteus Core with the same sensor and the best mouse for me to date. I have a max of 800 dpi so the new Hero is more overkill than I already have.

I have used about 20 different mice since I have started using a PC. This is by far my favorite mouse. I paid $69 for this at best buy and it was worth every cent. I bought a 2nd one for work because I couldn't stand using the crappy $5 mouse after using this. I also picked up a g910 keyboard and there is no going back. I can't stand using non mechanical keyboards or crap mouses.

I've owned a g502 for about a year now and its easily my favorite mouse along with its predecessor (g500/s). Just picked up an MX Master 2s for work. fwiw, I wish i just bought a second g502 for work. guess it depends on what ur used to but the mx master is too slanted for my taste. universal scroll better on g502. sometimes u want to scroll without free flow or w.e but free flow kicks in on the master if u scroll moderately hard regardless of whether the setting is on. mx master is wireless, has thumb scroll, and an additional button that is defaulted to alt tab. unless u really need wireless, none of these extra features are really important. like.. ive yet to find a use for thumbscroll. id get the g502. better feel for me and cheaper. unless its for work and ur afraid its too gamery.

Had this for about 2 years now. Great mouse. Still holding up very well. The included software is easy to set up and normally works great (it has a game sensing portion that swaps profiles when game loads). Once in a while the program will need rebooted

Did you press the button under the scroll wheel? It unlocks the wheel to spin loose. It' super smooth that way.

The wheel used to be made of metal. It's metal on my G502, but I got mine over a year ago so they may have changed.
